Samsung Introduced The First Mini Gaming Monitor
Samsung today unveiled a new generation of its curved gaming monitor called the Odyssey Neo G9. It has a 49-inch Mini LED panel with a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits and is about $ 1,000 more expensive than the previous generation.
Like Odyssey G5, Samsung’s new 1000R panel curved gaming monitor delivers an immersive gaming experience. This monitor supports HDR10 + and has a refresh rate of 240 Hz. The Odyssey Neo G9 has a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels and will be available for pre-order starting this Thursday for $ 2,500.
Samsung has paired its new monitor with high-end Neo TVs. This device uses Mini LED technology to display light and colors more accurately and has better black color. Unlike the previous generation, which had only ten dimming ranges, the Odyssey Neo G9 has 2048 limited dimming.
The Samsung Curved Monitor supports Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and is equipped with a variable refresh rate (VRR) feature. The response time of this device is one milliseconds like the previous year model, but Samsung has upgraded the dual HDMI ports of this product to the newer standard 2.1. The Odyssey Neo G9 also has a 1.4 DisplayPort, two USB 3.0 ports, and a headphone jack.
This monitor has a new feature called CoreSync that can synchronize the light behind the panel with the gaming environment to bring a more engaging experience. Of course, Samsung says that you probably will not notice this feature if you are not in a dark room.
Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 with HDMI 2.1 and VRR can get higher refresh rates from consoles. Of course, the Xbox Series X supports 1440p at 120Hz and finally 4K, and the PS5 is equipped with 1080p at 120Hz. But updates are going to be released for both Xbox & PlayStation consoles.
