Take A Stylish View At Galaxy Watch 4 Classic
Samsung’s Galaxy unpacked event is scheduled for August 11. It’s expected to see the debut of its new foldable smartphones as the main highlight. The company set to introduce the Galaxy Watch 4, running the One UI-based Wear OS at the event, and now we’ve got our first close-up of the operating system.
The leaker -91Mobiles- shared two photos of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The wearable has a round dial and is seen to have a Black and Silver finish. The gear is likely to feature a physical bezel and two buttons on the right edge for navigation and power on/off. Perhaps more significantly, these images show the new smartwatch OS on actual devices for the first time. Sadly, photos only show the setup process on the screen. And they don’t give us an idea of the UI changes coming with Google Wear OS integration.
Back in May, Google and Samsung announced they would essentially merge Wear OS and Tizen at Google I/O. They promise improvements to battery life, faster app loading times, and more. And Samsung gave us an idea of what the new OS will look like on its devices.
We already know what these gadget gears look like thanks to their leaked renders, but recently we are looking at the Classic model photos, which corroborate previous leaks and give us a glimpse of the wearable UI. The rest of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic’s rumored features 5ATM water resistance, Gorilla Glass DX/DX+, MIL-STD-810G certification, sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, SpO2 sensor, GPS, and step counter.
This smartwatch looks similar to the Galaxy Watch Active 2, while it features a larger body with a rotating bezel that is not available on the Watch 4. It is rumored to arrive in three colors, but we only see two of them in the live photos.
Regardless of size, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is expected to go on sale in two sizes; 42mm and 46mm. Both are powered by a new Exynos W920 chipset that’s more powerful and energy-efficient than the Exynos 9110. Depending on their size, the wearable should be powered by a 247mAh or 340mAh battery.
Notably, smaller versions of each smartwatch would have 1.19-inch displays, and the larger models have 1.36-inch ones. Besides, the Classic’s screen will be protected by Gorilla Glass DX, while the Watch 4 will include the softer Gorilla Glass DX+. The images show off the colors and the initial setup screens of Wear OS on the successor of one of the best Android smartwatches. Samsung’s One UI inspires the interface, but there’s not much to glimpse from the leaked photos.
