Kevin Spacey Set to Cast in Italian Film L’uomo Che Disegno Dio

After nearly three years of being off-screen, the Se7en actor Kevin Spacey is set to return to acting in an Italian film that Franco Nero directs.

According to ABC News, the Italian film L’uomo Che Disegno Dio or The Man Who Drew God will be directed by Franco Nero. Starring alongside American Beauty actor will be Vanessa Redgrave. The film is reportedly about a blind artist who acquires a godlike ability to draw portraits of people just by listening to human voices. Franco Nero did express his excitement for Spacey’s involvement with his movie. Nero told Abc News:

“I’m very happy Kevin agreed to participate in my film. I consider him a great actor, and I can’t wait to start the movie.” Nero is best known as an actor in movies like Django Unchained and John Wick: Chapter 2.

Spacey has not commented about his role as of yet.

The upcoming low-budget indie film The Man Who Drew God will mark Spacey’s first role in over four years after he faced multiple sexual assault and misconduct allegations.

Back in 2017, the two-time Oscar-winning actor was accused of sexual misconduct by at least 20 young men between 1995 and 2013 at London’s Old Vic theater. The allegations led Netflix and Spacey to part ways. He starred in the critically acclaimed Netflix TV series House of Cards. So, Kevin Spacey lost his role as manipulative President Frank Underwood in that series.

Additionally, In 2018, he was also charged with indecent assault with a teenager from Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, in 2016. The actor pleaded not guilty, and the charge was later dropped. Spacey remained out of the public eye. He only made a public statement at a museum. He kept in touch with his audience in a series of videos playing his character from House of Cards via an annual Christmas Eve video released on YouTube and Twitter. He last released a 2020 COVID19 installment, in which he offered his support to those struggling.

His last big-screen appearance was in the 2018 film Billionaire Boys Club and 2017, in Edgar Wright’s “Baby Driver.” Billionaire Boys Club grossed a total of $2.7 million worldwide at the box office.
